With only one week left before our harvest season begins on June 26th and June 29th, we are seeing definite growth in the garden.

In addition to the predicted lettuce and herbs, the first baskets may also include radishes, greens- like swiss chard, tatsoi and collards, and most excitingly some may see the first of the snap peas! I will be sure to keep track of who gets bags because there likely won’t be enough for everyone this first week. I know it’s a favorite of many of yours so I’ll be very sure to make sure everyone gets their fair share.

Snap Peas are Blooming!

The Potatoes are Blooming too!

The potatoes are looking really good too. We can only hope the excess rain won’t cause a condition called black heart, that rots out the inside of the potato. Our fields run east to west up the slope of a hill so the upward portion of the rows should be good for sure. We’ll just have to wait and see. Gardening is always a gamble!

The broccoli and cabbage have never been this big and gorgeous this early in the season. Very happy about that!

Green Beans

The bush beans also look amazingly good and are showing the first signs of blooming.

The tomatoes and peppers have bounced back from a rough start and are doing great!

Just one week to go!
