We couldn’t have asked for better weather to work in the garden. Here’s a recap of what we did the last few days:

Tomato plant, caged and ready to grow!

Tomato Patch

All total we lost about a third of our tomatoes to the storms a few weeks ago. So we had to buy replacements. The upside is we also picked up something we’ve never grown before. They’re called ground cherries. They look like a tomatillo but I’m told they’re much sweeter, so I’m excited to give them a try.

Winter Squash Plant

This little winter squash plant may not look like much now, but just wait! They grow SO fast. And we have dozens of them in different varieties plus pumpkins.

Peppers & Eggplant

The peppers and eggplant got a little TLC and are already looking better.

Sweet Corn Plants

We have a nice looking patch of sweet corn growing. We’ll be putting in a second planting soon.

Tomorrow we will be doing yet more weeding and mulching. Looks like our good weather streak will continue so I’m looking forward to it!
